Kathmandu Metropolitan City has provided financial assistance to Ratna Rajyalakshmi Campus for teaching the Newari language. Chief Vidya Sundar Shakya and campus chief Prof Dr. Jeevandhar Gyawali signed an agreement on the issue.
Students at Tribhuvan University have been demanding to conduct Nepali Bhasa (Newari language) undergraduate-level classes. The money now provided will be used to build the building’s infrastructure, pay two teachers, build a library, and carry out administrative work.
“Three years ago, 25 students had applied to be allowed to study,” said Chief Gyawali.
