6 Thousand Ward Offices Going to Receive Internet Access

Overview:
The widespread expansion of internet services has illuminated approximately 6,000 ward offices throughout the nation, courtesy of the Rural Telecommunication Development Fund. As per the Nepal Telecommunication Authority’s recently published report, broadband connectivity has been successfully established in 5,933 ward offices across the country through the efficient mobilization of funds.
With the authority allocating 18 distinct packages through the fund, internet connectivity has been extended to designated ward offices in 74 districts. Furthermore, broadband connections have been successfully deployed in 708 local offices, 5,031 community secondary schools, and 4,249 community health institutions and hospitals, marking a significant leap forward in the country’s digital infrastructure.
According to the report, broadband connectivity has been successfully established in a remarkable total of 16,208 locations, significantly improving communication channels and expanding access to online resources.
As for the monitoring and verification procedures, the authority has successfully concluded these processes for 14 completed projects. Meanwhile, active monitoring and verification efforts are currently underway for four projects in the third phase.
