On Saturday, 81 men were executed in Saudi Arabia including seven Yemenis and one Syrian. The execution has been the biggest mass execution in decades. The 81 were executed for terrorism and other offences including holding “deviant beliefs,” said Authorities.

The 81 people were convicted of various crimes including the murder of innocent men, women and children. The 81 executed also consisted of individuals who pledged alliance to foreign terrorist organisations such as ISIS, al-Qaeda and the Houthis said the interior ministry.

Among the executed men, 37 Saudi nationals were also included who were guilty in a single case for attempting to assassinate security officers, and targeting police stations and convoys.

The ministry did not clarify how the men were executed.

However, Saudi Press Agency did say the accusers were provided with the right to an attorney and were guaranteed their full rights under Saudi law during the Judicial process.

Rights groups have accused Saudi Araba of enforcing the laws and criticised it for using the death penalty, but Saudi Arabia denies the accusation of human rights abuses and said it protects the national security according to the country’s laws.
