93 percent of the target group successfully vaccinated against COVID 19

According to the Ministry of Health, 18,498,160 out of the total population above the age of 18 have received at least one dose of COVID 19 Vaccine and 16,184,858 people have been fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated covers 81.2 percent of the total targeted population.

Adding to the numbers, 3,118,785 (91 percent) people of the 12-17 age group have been vaccinated once and 2,311,998 (67 percent) people under 18 have been fully vaccinated. Thus, according to the ministry, 39,223,941 vaccines have been provided to all age groups till 18th March, the number includes 18,695,520 first doses, 18,698,595 second doses and 1,829,520 booster doses.

Verocell, Covishield, AstraZeneca, Modern, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are the vaccines Government of Nepal has been vaccinating with. A total of 47,882,800 doses of vaccine has been received by the government as grant assistance and procurement.

Target has been set for mid-April to vaccinate all those above 18 years. The government of Nepal needs to vaccinate only 7 percent of the population to achieve 100 percent vaccination among people above 18 years. Adding to it, only 9 percent of the population are left to vaccinate the under 18 age group.
