Institute of Engineering
Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering was the first Technical School in Nepal founded in 1930 AD and it has reformed to its current form in 1972 AD. In 1972, Tribhuvan University brought together Nepal Engineering Institute, Pulchowk and Technical Training Institute, Thapathali under a single umbrella to form the Institute of Engineering. The Institute of Engineering has its central campus at Pulchowk Campus. The other constituent campuses under Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering are Thapathali Campus, Pashchimanchal Campus, Purwanchal Campus, and Chitwan Engineering Campus.
This Institute plays a vital role in formulating the engineering courses provided by its constituent and affiliated colleges. Under this institution, the fields of Engineering are divided into departments, these departments develop and formulate programs and courses for their respective fields. The Institute of Engineering provides Undergraduate, Graduate and PhD through its constituent and affiliated colleges in most of the engineering fields and is striving to change and evolve as per newer needs, demands and requirements.
