The government is expanding technical education to all 753 local levels. Minister of Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel said that the move would improve opportunities for local students.
These schools will be established as ‘Centres of Excellence,’ and they would run training courses in design and engineering.
On Monday, Sunwal Municipality organized an interaction on technical education, in which Minister Poudel announced, “skill-based education would lead to better livelihoods.” According to him, the government has focused on physical infrastructures, a teaching and learning system, and legal reforms. He noted that they could be accomplished through collaboration among teachers, guardians, students, and other stakeholders. He urged Local Officials to merge schools which the government was prepared to fund infrastructure for in this regard.
The Education Ministry appealed to the teachers and principals to devote their attention to educational reform rather than to politics and social work.
Basic needs like drinking water and toilets will be provided along with the physical arrangements of schools in the coming three years.
Dadhiram Aryal, the temporary leader of Sunwal Municipality said, the top most focus is the improvement of school education there.
