Bad Weather forces Mountaineers’ Team to return from Mt. Cho Oyu

A team of Nepali Mountaineers who left for Mt Cho Oyu on Jan 26 with the purpose to introduce a commercial route had to return after weather warnings.

The team has successfully fixed routes up to 7,409.72 meters although the plan was to reach Camp 3 (7,800 meters). Geljie Sherpa led this expedition to introduce a safe commercial route from Nepal’s side, it is the team’s primary goal, the team also looks forward to making a winter summit. The team reached mt. Cho Oyu’s Camp 1 on February 11 and Camp 2 on February 13.

To make a winter summit, the team has to make the ascent before the end of this month.
