China’s Foreign Minister will arrive in Nepal, today

China’s State Counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi will be arriving in Kathmandu on Friday for a three-day visit for bilateral talks with Nepal.

Dr Narayan Khadka, Nepal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said preparations have been made for his reception and the visit. Security has been increased in the areas of Bouddha, Swayambhu, and Hattisaar with special surveillance on roads, intersections, and the venues from Minister Wang’s residence. Spokesperson and Joint Secretary of Home Ministry, Phanindra Mani Pokharel said that necessary security arrangements were discussed at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

During Wang’s visit to Nepal, he would pay a courtesy call to President Vidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang will lead his delegations for bilateral talks on cooperation, past relationships and implementation progress with Dr Khadka, on Saturday.

According to Wang’s itinerary during his stay in Nepal, Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sewa Lamsal said Wang is also scheduled to meet the former PM and Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli and former PM and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
