“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” – Henry Ford.
Just because someone is enrolled in an academic institution does not mean that they cannot learn from another. You just need to search for the best courses that complement your academics, your interests, your goals, and a place or a person, that will guide you to achieve that extra knowledge. Besides, 76.2% of Nepal’s population is literate, and you need to do that extra work to be different or superior. Also, learning does not always mean sitting in a classroom for 3 to 8 hours, doing homework, and forcing yourself to work on things that you are not interested in at all. Everyone’s way of learning is different, and that is not a problem at all. Don’t ever victimize yourself for not being a learner just because you are slow at it, or because you have an interest in something else.
Is it Bad to be a Slow Learner?
Some catch maths quickly, some catch verbals, some catch sports, and others catch extracurricular activities. A person talented in academics might find it difficult to balance a proper relationship status with friends, teachers, or even parents, and vice versa. Our way of learning or catching things is affected by different factors including our upbringing, the environment or culture that we are exposed to, our genes, and health conditions. Also, the world is beyond just exams, and having knowledge of things beyond books would do no harm. In fact, practical learning is considered an effective study mechanism that has helped students learn new skills, concentrate, and apply their learnings from work to theory. So, no one is a slow learner, everyone is different and their way of learning things, is different. We just need a proper counselor, an understanding teacher, and supporting parents, to motivate us in doing things.
International Scenario for Extra Classes
Taking extra classes alongside regular academic classes has become something parallel in the education system worldwide. As per the data collected in South Korea, it was found that 20.9 trillion won (almost 17.9 million dollars) was spent on private classes, aka extra classes, in 2020. Furthermore, in Japan, this industry has a long history as the annual industry value of tutoring was 14 billion dollars, back in the mid-1990s. This is probably because Japan and Korea have understood the importance of education as well as academic grades. Furthermore, President Barack Obama and UK Education Secretary, Michael Gove also appreciated the education system of South Korea. In the foreign land, there are few great colleges that offer great scholarships, and students compete in terms of grades, to reach those universities.
Background Information
Education is something important to both people and the nation. In fact, the educational industries are named as one of the many agencies working for national development. With this title earned, numerous businesses have involved themselves in delivering the objective of this agency, including schools, colleges, institutions, and tutoring centers. Hence, to improve this base of development, education is included in 17 different Sustainable Development Goals as goal number 4. However, the other 16 goals can be understood and realized only when individuals are educated and trained. Hence education is very important, and gaining more insights and learning would not do any harm.
Current Scenario of Schools and Colleges in Nepal
Schools and Colleges are bound by a set of rules that they have to follow and implement, which are created by the head or central group that assists education in Nepal. Some of such bodies include the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST), NEB, HISSAN, CDC, and so forth. The course content, syllabus, and everything are created by the CDC (Curriculum Development Center), for all levels. Once the admission is done, the study session is set, a classroom is created and students and teachers start attending classes, and that particular academic year begins.
Within that academic year, you need to manage your time effectively and focus on participating in extracurricular activities like quizzes, developing your skills, and working on your communication skills, leadership skills, and thinking skills alongside understanding your interests and developing them. Everything becomes a rush.
Meanwhile, schools and colleges are under pressure to complete the syllabus on time, and take exams on time, and hence might not have time to ensure that every student is getting 100% of what they are learning. Round the clock, some students might be sharp, but unable to understand a particular teacher’s way of teaching. Some might not be able to participate in activities that they are interested in, just because they have other issues related to health, exams, or so forth. So, if you are someone willing to work that extra hour, run that extra mile, learn that extra syllabus, and grab every opportunity for good, this is high time to take an extra class, hand in hand, with your schools and college course contents. As you set your mind, you need to rush to the institutions that provide you with those extra classes, hassle-free, with no time or syllabus completion pressure, and with a rigorous effort to help students develop their scores, and get that college admissions they want, that carrier they have been dreaming about, and grab that opportunity to learn, that they were seeking for.
Extra Classes; Something that Compliments Normal Schools and Collages
Normally, schools are seen to pressure you, by asking you to complete your assignments, heart the meanings or the answers, compete in the competition, and stay focused even when you are not in a state of focusing. They set limits to everything possible and make students bound to stay under those limitations. Doing things by your own will is far better than being forced to do them.
Taking an extra class for the subject that you are interested in, is a great way to get out of the hassle and pressure, and to focus on slow and effective learning. For instance, if you are a student who is having trouble understanding maths, but at the same time you are having trouble with your study schedule then the syllabus, notes, and learning materials provided on Gurubaa’s official website, as well as Gurubaa’s official youtube channel could be a great choice for you. If someone is offering you help you get better scores, helping you with time management, providing you with all the coursework needed, and monitoring all of your academic performance, then why not? After all, Ben Carson properly stated that ” No knowledge is ever wasted”. Gurubaa gives students all the course content in written format too, in the form of notes, which will also help them to understand their syllabus.
Language Classes
Apart from this, Gurubaa also offers language classes and assists people in their dream language or dream country. Both online and physical classes are provided, and some video clips are also uploaded on YouTube, as a demonstration of what the classes are like, in Gurubaa.
Personal Opinion
You Are Never Too Old To Learn Something New – George Jerjian.
Indeed, the school’s academics and course structure are carefully crafted, strategically structured, and created with a mindset that everyone can complete a year’s course content, within the year only. However, course content should be something that every student can overcome, as they progress. Just because the teacher is rushing the course does not mean that the student is understanding everything. Also, the teacher has a structured calendar with pre-assigned chapters for each day.
So with the help of extra preparation classes, students will not have to stress about being behind, or not understanding any content, or any chapters. They can solely prioritize the subject that they are confused about, alongside being in a less formal and more interactive class.
