India’s Aditya L One spacecraft, which was sent to study the Sun, has successfully reached its destination after a four-month journey. The spacecraft has officially entered Lagrange Point One (L One), marking another significant achievement for India. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) confirmed that Aditya L One has successfully entered into the final chamber required to reach L One.
Earlier today, the spacecraft’s engine was ignited for the last time, propelling Aditya L One to its ultimate destination. After a flight duration of 63 minutes and 20 seconds, the spacecraft entered the halo orbit of L One, located approximately 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the social network X to celebrate this momentous milestone. He praised the relentless efforts of Indian scientists in accomplishing this intricate space mission and hailed it as an extraordinary achievement.
Entering orbit was considered the most challenging phase for Aditya L One before reaching its destination, but this obstacle has been successfully overcome today. India launched Aditya-L One as its inaugural solar spacecraft on September 2, 2024.
