The locals at Sisdol of Nuwakot continue to protest obstructing the garbage from Kathmandu Valley.
The demands for the locals remain unaddressed despite the decision of the last cabinet meeting to form a high-level committee to minimize the impact of waste management at the Bancharedanda landfill site. The landfill site borders Sisdol and Dhading in Nuwakot.
Coordinator of Bancharedanda Landfill Site Affected Areas Concern Committee Shri Ram Dhungana said garbage from Kathmandu was stopped due to protests of locals.
The locals demand that the land of Guthi of the affected areas should be registered legally, relocation of the highly affected settlement of the area should be done, the road leading to the landfill should be upgraded and disposal of the waste in the landfill should be scientific.
