The 33/11kV Musikot Substation in Dharienichaur, Musikot Municipality 3 of West Rukum has come into Operation. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma jointly inaugurated the substation on Monday. The substation will supply electricity to East Rukum, West Rukum and a few places in Jajarkot.

The substation has been brought into operation taking electricity from Salyan Sittalpati substation through an 80km long 33kV line said Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of NEA.

The construction of the Musikot Substation started in 2072 and a contract worth Rs 88.8 million was signed with Waiba Infratech Pvt Ltd for its construction. The substation had recently been completed, the project was delayed as the site initially chosen for construction was prone to landslides and a new location had to be identified.

A substantial improvement has been noted in the voltage of electricity in Rukum due to the operation of the substation. There is regularity in the line and less technical leakage.
