NOC, Nepal Oil cooperation signed an agreement with the Tanker Operators late on Saturday night assuring the operators/ transporters to meet their demands. In the agreement, NOC agreed to solve the issues regarding the fuel stations’ commission and adjustment of cooking gas transport fare within 7 days.
The transporters have discontinued the strike from Sunday as the agreement was signed. Both sides have agreed to resolve other problems in the fuel distribution sector by the end of May.
On Friday, fuel transporters launched a strike across Nepal with various demands against the monopoly of Government-run Fuel distribution, due to which many feared a fuel crisis. They halted fuel supply in Kathmandu and other parts of the country for 2 days.
The halt in fuel supply also sparked fear in Kathmandu residents which resulted in long queues outside the fuel stations on Friday and Saturday.
