Introduction

Purbanchal University was established in 1993 as a public institution by the Government of Nepal to create a centre of academic excellence in the Easter Development Region of Nepal. The University has played a huge role in advocating and providing education in the eastern part of Nepal. Purbanchal  University was established with the aim to act as an agent for the socio-economic transformation of the region. 

Purbanchal University was established with the goal of maintaining, polishing, inventing, adopting, spreading and transmitting knowledge in an atmosphere that nurtures free inquiry and open scholarly debate. The University is fully autonomous and it is equipped to play a significant role in academic advancement and providing quality education in Nepal.

The University’s establishment has proven to be a great relief to the students of the region wishing to attain higher education. The university is accessible to all in terms of availability, seats as well as cost to all groups of people.

Purbanchal University is running all its programs with 7 faculties and 4 constituent bodies. The University is affiliated with more than 123 colleges in Nepal and provides more than 100 programs.

Faculty of Science and Technology

The Faculty of Science and Technology under Purbanchal University was established in 1994 and now it currently works along with the School of Engineering and Technology. The faculty provides courses related to computers, information technology and machine technology separate from engineering courses. The programs are designed to fulfil the needs in all areas like Computer Science, Infromation Technology, Agriculture and Veterinary.

Faculty of Management

The Faculty of Management under Purbanchal University is one of the leading faculties of the university. The Faculty of Management works along with the School of Management of Purbanchal university. The Faculty offers professional, functional and practical courses for the students. The faculty designs program for management that are most relevant as per the needs of the country. The faculty provides programs for different levels that will produce efficient manpower upon graduation.

Faculty of Arts, Law and Education

The Faculty of Arts, Law and Education at Purbanchal University is one of the leading faculties of the university. All three Faculties develop programs that are relevant to the society of today, all the programs are up-to-date to the context of the nation and the world. The faculty targets students studying arts, law and education with advanced courses.

Faculty of Medical and Allied Science

The faculty of Medical and Allied Sciences under Purbanchal University provides one of the best programs for medical, nursing, public health and pharmacy education in Nepal. The Faculty is committed to providing quality learning experiences through theoretical, practical as well as the research approach.  The faculty has been remodelling, updating and improving the courses in this faculty to meet the needs of the nation.

Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering was established to focus on the need for efficient human resources in the fields of Engineering. This Faculty works along with its constituent college, School of Engineering and Technology. The target of this faculty is to promote and produce talents in this field who will work for the community upon graduation. The courses in this faculty are developed to meet the needs of the national and the global market.
