In April 2022, Kathmandu University hosted an interactive event with International Finance Corporation Regional Office. Dr. Uddhab Pyakurel, Senior Director of a Global Engagement Division, moderated the discussion.
Ms. Lynne D. Sheburne-Benz, Director Of operations of the World Bank, headed the World Bank mission. Mr. Rene Antonio Leon Solono, Mr. Mohan Aryal, Ms. Sangeeta Pinto, Ms. Jyoti Maya Pandey, and Ms. Maya Sherpa were among the other participants too.
The Dean of the Academy, Prof. Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, gave a brief lecture about KU. The presentation covered both prior collaborations between the World Bank and Kathmandu University, as well as current academic programs, research projects, university and community partnerships, and internationalization plans.
During the presentations, the floor was offered with questions and answers on a variety of academic themes and cross-cutting issues. In his final remarks, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa reviewed Kathmandu University’s founding concept and praised the World Bank’s support.
