From this year onwards, textbooks for the school level will be published in all the states. For the Academic Year 2079, to provide free textbooks for the students, Janak Sikshya Samagri was given the responsibility to publish and distribute the books for school level from classes 1 to 12 which were further distributed to a private publishing centre to print books for classes 1 to 3 and Sajha Publication to publish books for classes 11 and 12.
The arrangement was made for Janak Sikshya Samagri to publish and distribute books for Classes 4 to 10, the centre was to publish 1 Crore and 96 Lakhs books. Out of the total, the publication has published 1 crore and 70 lakhs books and the rest are currently being printed.
Education Minister addressed this issue at Tuesday’s parliament, he said, preparations were made to start the Academic session 2079 from Asar due to the unstable Academic session of 2078, but the government directed to start the academic session 2079 from Jestha and along with lack of paper due to Russia-Ukraine war disturbed the printing which ultimately resulted to delay.
