SEE Results to be Published Following Old Grading Guidelines
Kathmandu, Ashadh 18, 2080
Introduction:
The National Examination Board has decided to publish the results of the 2079 Secondary Education Examination (SEE) following the Letter Grading Guide of 2072. The decision was taken during a board meeting held today to address concerns raised by stakeholders regarding which grading guidelines should be used for the publication of the SEE results.
The Letter Grading Guideline, 2078, was initially issued by a ministerial decision on January 7, 2078. However, a subsequent amendment was made on February 18, 2078, stating that students who score less than 35 points in the theoretical part will receive an unclassified grade of 9, a non-graded 0, and will not be issued the original certificate.
In the past year, the board had to resort to the old guidelines due to the COVID-19 epidemic but had introduced new letter grading guidelines, which were not implemented.
As this year’s SEE was conducted based on the old syllabus, the board has decided to publish the results in accordance with the old grading guidelines.
The eagerly awaited results are expected to be announced before 7th July 2023 (22nd Ashadh,2080) according to Vishnunarayan Shrestha, Controller of Examinations at the National Examination Board. Niantak Shrestha, a board official, expressed confidence that the results would be released within the stated timeframe, barring any technical difficulties.
A total of 485,396 students participated in the SEE, which took place from 17th Chaitra 2079 and was conducted at 2,037 examination centers across the country.
