Snapchat’s Monthly Active Users Surpass 750 Million, Company Aims to Hit 1 Billion in Next 3 Years

Overview

Snapchat, the popular multimedia instant messaging application, has announced that it has achieved a milestone of 750 million monthly active users (MAU). The company has witnessed rapid growth in its user base, with 500 million MAU in April 2021 and 600 million in April 2022. This significant increase in user base can be attributed to the unique features of Snapchat, which offers a more private and personal way of communication among friends and family without the pressure of appearing popular or perfect.

Snapchat’s DAU has also seen a steady increase, with 375 million daily active users reported on January 31, growing its DAU by over 15% year-on-year for 13 consecutive quarters. At its recent Investor Day, Snapchat announced that based on its current growth rate, it expects to reach over 1 billion users in the next two to three years.

Snapchat’s innovative features have helped it become a popular choice for the younger generation. Over 60% of Snapchatters open the app each day to create snaps, and over 70% of Snapchatters who download the app engage with augmented reality (AR) on their first day on the app. Evan Spiegel, co-founder, and CEO stated that the company has made a lot of progress, growing revenues to $4.6 billion in 2022. He also highlighted the brand-safe environment and innovative advertising platform of Snapchat, which have made it a valuable partner for businesses that want to reach the next generation.

Snapchat, which was launched in September 2011, has made a name for itself in the league of social applications by offering a unique feature of making pictures and messages available for a short time. With its growing popularity and innovative features, Snapchat is expected to continue to be a significant player in the social media space in the years to come.
