Teachers in Siddharthnagar, Kapilvastu, Empowered through Social and Creative Arts Training

The Sadhana Cultural Arts Center, in collaboration with Tilottama Municipality, has launched a one-week social and creative arts teaching program to empower teachers from 42 schools in Tilottama Municipality with essential skills in folk music, folk song, and painting.
The training program, which started on May 6th, 2023, aims to foster a connection between art and education, enhance children’s academic learning, and equip teachers with necessary skills to integrate art and culture into the educational curriculum.
Jageshwaridevi Chaudhary, Deputy Head of Tilottma Municipality, inaugurated the program and presented medals to participating teachers to recognize their commitment to innovative teaching methods.
The training sessions are led by esteemed experts in various art forms, including Ram Thapa, a renowned folk dance researcher, Rajesh Thapa, the outgoing general manager of Rashtriya Naachghar, and accomplished artists such as Anu Rajak, Mukesh Gurung, Pritam Rana, and Roshan Gurung. The program will receive additional support from Indra Bahadur Vishwakarma, Himal Thapa, and Poonam Thapa, who will provide detailed training aligned with the syllabus.
The initiative is a response to the decreasing learning ability of children when faced with complex language in schools. According to the principal of Gyanganga Pathshala, Chandra Adhikari, the training program will provide teachers with the essential tools to effectively involve students in the learning process and cultivate a passion for education.
The training program aims to create a vibrant learning environment where students can thrive by enriching academic knowledge and fostering well-rounded individuals with a deep appreciation for their heritage.
