Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel had a discussion with National Planning Commission’s vice-president Bishwanarayan Poudel on the issue of increasing the budget for educational reform.
During the discussion, Minister Poudel said that there was a lack of necessary budget in the areas of school education, higher education, technical education and science and technology and urged to increase education to 20 percent of the total national budget.
The reason behind demanding more budget on education is the need of programs including library, science laboratory and information and technology in all secondary schools, provision of training for all teachers, increase in scope and amount of scholarships and many more.
