Kathmandu – In a recent development, Apple has announced its plans to release an artificial intelligence (AI) version of its voice assistant Siri, utilizing the capabilities of ChatGPT. This groundbreaking feature is expected to be introduced in the upcoming iOS 17.4.

While Siri has been a prominent feature in Apple devices, the integration of AI has been limited. However, Apple has invested one billion dollars to enhance Siri’s functionality through AI technology.

According to reports from NineTwoFive Mac, Apple is collaborating with ChatGPT to develop a new, smarter version of Siri. The evidence of this collaboration has been found in the beta version of iOS 17.4. Additionally, it has been speculated that Apple has incorporated the code of OpenAI to enhance Siri’s intelligence.

Instead of relying solely on Siri’s existing AI capabilities, Apple has chosen to employ ChatGPT to compare it with its Large Language Model (LLM). The company is currently testing various AI models, including two versions of their in-house LLM, Ajax GPT (AjaxGPT), both on and off-device, and FLAN-T5 (FLAN-T5).

Rumors have been circulating since early January about Apple’s plans to integrate AI into its services, particularly Siri. It is widely anticipated that the AI-powered Siri will be officially unveiled at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference.

Apple’s initiative to introduce an AI version of Siri signals its commitment to leverage cutting-edge technology and enhance the user experience. With ChatGPT’s capabilities, users can expect a smarter, more intuitive Siri that will revolutionize the way they interact with their Apple devices.
