Call for Application for Admission in Undergraduate Programs

Date: July 25, 2023

This is to inform all interested candidates that Kathmandu University is inviting applications for admission in Undergraduate Programs for the academic year 2023/2024. The programs are offered by the School of Engineering (SoE) at Kathmandu University.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 level (or equivalent) with the subjects PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) in both XI and XII. The eligibility criteria for individual programs may vary, so please refer to the specific requirements mentioned in the official admission call.

Programs Available:

  1. BE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering): Communication, Power and Control
  2. BE (Mechanical Engineering): Automobile, Energy Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Hydropower
  3. BE (Civil Engineering with specialization in Hydropower)
  4. BE (Chemical Engineering)
  5. BE (Mining Engineering)*
  6. BE (Computer Engineering)
  7. BE (Geomatics Engineering)**
  8. B.Arch (Architecture)***
  9. BTech in AI (Artificial Intelligence)

*In partnership with Gandaki University **Candidates applying for geomatics scholarships need to fill up a separate form for scholarship after the publication of the “Program wise merit list for admission purpose” ***Must pass the aptitude test conducted after the CBT merit list publication

International Applicants: 10 percent of seats are reserved for foreign applicants, with fees 1.5 times the normal fee for SAARC countries and 2 times the normal fee for other countries.

Inclusion Quota: 10 percent of seats are reserved for Inclusion Quota.

Application Process:

  1. Registration, application form filling, and payment are open from July 25, 2023.
  2. The last date of registration is August 8, 2023.
  3. Admit card availability, KUCAT-CBT exam, and publication of CBT score will be announced soon.
  4. Candidates can choose their exam center from Kathmandu, Biratnagar, or Manigram.
  5. Payment of the application processing fee can be made through digital wallets or banks.

International applicants are also welcome, with reserved seats and different fee structures. Inclusion quota seats are also available.
