The Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Ashok Kumar Rai, has instructed Kathmandu University to immediately withdraw the suspension of Dr. Bishad Dahal, a resident doctor at Kathmandu Medical College.
Minister Rai, acting as the pro-chancellor of Kathmandu University, issued this directive. Secretary Suresh Adhikari, from the Ministry of Education, informed the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives about Minister Rai’s instructions.
Adhikari stated that the directive was issued to deploy doctors in health camps only after the criteria set by Kathmandu University were established following the lifting of Dr. Dahal’s suspension. The suspension of Dr. Dahal by Kathmandu Medical College, citing non-participation in a health camp, was criticized by members of the Parliamentary Committee who argued that the action was not under the law.
