The academic session of 2079 witnessed an overall decrease in the total number of students, particularly in the basic level (grades 1-8) where the number of students decreased by 3.97 percent. In the previous academic session, there were 927,841 students studying at the school level, with 733,435 students at the basic level and 194,406 students at the secondary level (grades 9-12). However, in the academic session 2079, the number of students dropped to 704,287 at the basic level and 203,823 at the secondary level out of a total of 908,110 students.

This decline in enrollment and the rise in out-of-school children highlight broader concerns within the education sector in the Far Western Province. It is crucial to address the underlying issues that contribute to this trend and find practical solutions to ensure quality education for all students.

The decrease in enrollment and the increase in the number of out-of-school children have significant implications for students, teachers, parents, and the education system as a whole. It may affect the quality of education, access to educational resources, and future prospects for the affected children. Additionally, it raises concerns about the overall development and progress of the region.

Considering different perspectives and understanding the reasons behind these trends is important. Factors such as economic challenges, lack of infrastructure, inadequate resources, and limited access to quality education might contribute to the decline in enrollment and the rise in out-of-school children.

In Conclusion: The decline in the enrollment rate and the increase in the number of out-of-school children in the Far Western Province highlight significant challenges in the education system. It is essential for authorities, educators, and stakeholders to work together to address these issues and ensure that every child has access to quality education. Efforts should focus on improving infrastructure, providing necessary resources, and implementing effective policies to reverse this trend.
