Grant Assistance provided by Japan to build Classrooms

Japan’s Ambassador Kikuta Yutaka signed a grant with the President of NPO Nepal Volunteer Social Services Lakpa Nurbu Sherpa for building classrooms in the Sankhuwasabha District. The grant was signed on Thursday at the Embassy of Japan.

Japanese Government funded the grant worth USD 185,971 under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects. The Embassy of Japan informed the grant was provided with the aim to enhance the educational environment by constructing eleven classrooms which will help students who had to study in deteriorated buildings.

The Press Release held on Thursday revealed the grant provided will be used for the deteriorated school building of Shree Himalaya Secondary School, Sankhuwasabha. The school was established in 1960, and currently, more than 380 students study in the building with multiple roof cracks and leaks. The deteriorated building has caused difficulties for students to concentrate on their studies.

The Embassy of Japan assisted through this grant hoping to provide a safe and pleasant environment for the students to ensure a good learning experience to help in the quality of education.
