The Institute of Engineering (IOE) under Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced that admissions for the academic year 2023/2024 for undergraduate programs will be conducted at the previous fee rates, without any increase.
The entrance examination for engineering programs will be held on October 9 at the previous fee of Rs 318,000.
The IOE had proposed a substantial fee increase, but after protests by students, the fee hike was withdrawn and a committee was formed to review the fee structure. The committee recommended setting the undergraduate fee at Rs 554,000.
The controversy over the fee led to the postponement of the entrance exam originally scheduled for September.
