Metropolis taking action to remove teacher who did not attend school from Jestha

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has issued a notice to terminate the employment of teacher Jyoti Pandey. The notice relates to her role as a secondary teacher at Pashupati Mitra Secondary School in Ward No. 7 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. A decision was made to transfer Pandey from Tarun Secondary School and Balajuma Secondary School to Sri Pashupati Mitra Secondary School in Chabhahil on 25th Bhadra. However, as she failed to show up, it has been decided to terminate her employment.

Since Jestha’s 8th, Teacher Pandey has not been seen attending or working at either her previous school or the school she was transferred to. She neglected the notices and has not fulfilled her official obligations at the new school.

Under section 16 (e), sub-section (5) of the Education Act, 2028, the metropolis has issued a notice to initiate the dismissal process. The notice states that if the employee does not voluntarily leave within fifteen days, the reasons for termination will be submitted. If necessary, the process for termination of employment will be carried out based on this notice, under clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section 5 of section 16 (e) of the Education Act, 2028.
