Nepal will have its own Digital Currency

Nepal Rastriya Bank has started the process to issue Nepal’s own Digital Currency.

The bank is currently studying the feasibility of Central Bank Digital Currency which is said to have reached the final stage. Nepal Rastriya Bank had aimed to study the viability of Digital Currency through the current fiscal year’s monetary policy, it has also launched a study on the use and possibility of digital currency around the world.

A six-member task force was formed under Anuj Dahal, the director of the Money Management Department by the Rastriya Bank. The task force’s Executive Director Revati Prasad Nepal said the study report in this regard would be ready this month.
