Despite the efforts of the government and experts to ease the fears of the people at the beginning of the epidemic of Covid-19, many misconceptions were spread in the society. Manmohan Technical University, which is observing the situation, had come up with a plan to produce new manpower that could provide regular health knowledge, skills, and awareness to the people even in the face of such health epidemics.

The university has prepared a postgraduate studies course for teaching ‘Health Policy, Management and Technology’ at a postgraduate level. This course will be useful for those working in the health sector and those who want to go into that field as medical superintendents in the future.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Pokharel said the new course, ‘Health Policy, Management and Technology‘ has been prepared under the Faculty of Science and Technology and will be implemented from next Jestha.

The government had established Manmohan Technical University as Nepal’s first technical university. Every course at Manmohan Technical University is 50 percent theoretical and 50 percent practical. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pokharel said that the country was lagging behind in development due to the lack of opportunities for technical education and product-oriented education as formal education has been given priority so far.

According to Dr. Sujan Bajracharya, coordinator of the course development committee, the ‘Health Policy, Management and Technology’ course is a new awareness program that includes medical and management aspects; it will provide management knowledge, information, and experience of healthcare to the students.
