- Although the speaking test is done through a computer may seem like an advantage, but the disadvantage lies in accents, if a person has a thick accent the computer might not be able to accurately assess your Speaking test.
- The test time also acts as a huge drawback. The test taker has a limited test time in every question in a section of the test, the time limit is inflexible, thus if the test taker gets nervous or misses their chance to answer, they will not able to score in the questions.
- There is only one type of test that is globally accepted as an English Proficiency test; PTE Academic. There is no other test type one can choose if the test taker does require an Academic English Proficiency test.
- The test is fully computer-delivered, which plays acts as a huge drawback for people who aren’t used to working with a computer. It is also a disadvantage who prefer traditional Paper-based tests.

This test is rather simple if one manages to understand the test format, time limits, and question types. Or else this test might prove to be one of the hardest tests a student has faced.
