Adolescents of Palpa Samari Bhanjyang Secondary School and Saraswati Secondary School at Dhading have started making Sanitary Pads they need. Schools with financial support from Nilkantha Municipality of Dhading have conducted a training program for the adolescent students to make Sanitary Pads for themselves as per their needs.

Instructor Shanti Tamang said considering the health conditions of the female students of the schools and their inability to come to school during their menstruation, the students were given the training to make their own Sanitary Pads. The young girls were taught to make reusable cloth pads, the pads can be used again after washing said Tamang.

The young girls were taught about health concerns during the menstruation, and the hygienic use of sanitary pads during the sanitary pad-making training program.  36 students of Saraswati Secondary School and 31 students from Palpa Samari Bhanjyang Secondary School studying in classes 6 to 10 were taught about health and hygiene, changes during adolescence, and health attention required during adolescence in the training program.
