Anyone who has a bachelor’s degree can now study Nepali for their master’s degree at Tribhuvan University. This means that you can study Nepali even if you didn’t study it in your undergraduate degree.
This decision was made by the Tertiary Nepali Subject Standing Committee, the Faculty Council Standing Committee, and the Academic Council Standing Committee. They believe that this will help to strengthen the Nepali language.
Some people have criticized this decision, saying that it was made to increase the number of students in postgraduate Nepali. However, Prof. Dr. Luitel, the head of the Nepali Central Department, says that this is not the case. He said that the decision was made to help, develop and improve the Nepali language.
