Five airline companies show interest in operating in GBIA

Along with Jazeera Airway of Kuwait, Sri Lankan Airlines, Qatar Airways, Thai Smile Airlines and Nepal Airlines Corporation have shown interest to operate commercial flights in the airport.

Adhikari, Director-General of CAAN said they have been preparing to grant permissions to the interested airlines after studying the matters. CAAN has issued an ‘Aeronautical Publication Information’ a few days ago for the operation of commercial flights in the airport.

But the Chief of GBIA Govinda Prasad Dahal said that they are facing difficulties to lack of staff, they currently have 36 staff while the total quota is for 151 staff.
