EDUCATION NEWS IN NEPAL

Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Ashok Kumar Rai, provided an update during Sunday’s House of Representatives meeting regarding the agreement made with the Nepal Teachers’ Association and the Relief Teachers’ Central Committee on September 22 and 27, respectively.

He shared details of the agreement while responding to queries raised during discussions on the School Education Bill of 2080 in the meeting.

He mentioned that the Ministry of Education has already communicated with the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that the order of priority for teachers, as agreed upon, is maintained. Additionally, Minister Rai stated that the government had the capacity to address some aspects of the agreement, while others would require the formulation of regulations following the bill’s approval.

Minister Rai further urged the swift passage of the bill, highlighting the importance of honoring the agreement reached with education stakeholders.
